ADMISSION NOTICE FOR D.EL.ED

 

PRE-ENTRY TEST (PET)
 FOR ADMISSION INTO 
2-YEAR DIPLOMA IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION (D.EL.ED.) COURSE 

Online applications are hereby invited from eligible candidates who are permanent resident of Assam to appear in the Pre-Entry Test (PET)-2022 for admission into 2 -Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) Course. The course will be conducted in the NCTE recognized Teacher Education Institutes (DIET/CTE/Normal School/BTC/Pvt. TEIs) of the state.

Minimum Educational Qualification: 

            The candidates must have passed Higher Secondary (HS) [10+2] or its equivalent examination from recognized Board/Council with at least 50% marks in aggregate excluding marks secured in the optional/extra/fourth subject. For candidates belonging to SC/ST(P)/ST(H) category there will be relaxation of 5% of marks in aggregate excluding marks secured in the optional/extra/fourth subject.

Age: 

            The candidate must not be less than 18 years and not more than 34 years as on 1st July, 2022. There will be relaxation by 2 years in upper age limit for candidates belonging to SC, ST(P) & ST(H) categories.

Reservation: 

            Reservation of seats for the candidates belonging to reserved categories including OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H), Person with Disability (PWD) will be as per Reservation Policy.

2 Years D.EL.ED Courses Details

         This 2-year curriculum, developed as per the guidelines of NCTE, 2016 has been designed as a package of 4(four) semesters to equip prospective teachers with the knowledge, attitude, behaviors and skills that they require to perform in their future teaching profession effectively in the classroom, school and in wider community.This curriculum covers the courses of child studies, Educational studies, contemporary studies, curriculum and pedagogic studies, optional pedagogy courses, practicum and school internship so as to develop a competent, committed, performing and reflective teacher. All the course materials are aligned to NCF-2005, RTE-2009,NCFTE-2011 and other national and global educational trends.

        Teacher education is more important today than it has been in previous century. Education policy and practice are being radically transformed in education, and teacher preparation programs need to fall in line with the pace of advancement and requirement of schools. In context to this SCERT proposes to review and develop D.El.Ed. Curriculum in alignment to NCTE guideline of 2014 in a workshop mode.

        The guideline says: : The D.El.Ed. programme is to be designed to integrate the study of childhood, social context of education, subject knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, aims of education, and communication skills. The programme shall comprise of compulsory and optional theory courses; compulsory practicum courses,; and comprehensive school internship. The theory and practicum courses shall be assigned a weightage in the proportion determined by the affiliating body. It shall be in broad alignment with National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education, while contextualizing it for the state and region concerned. ICT, gender, yoga education and disability/inclusive education shall form integral part of the curriculum.”
